Father’s Day was first introduced early in the twentieth century (around 1908) to compliment
Mother’s
Day. It is a secular celebration that honours fathers & forefathers.
Whilst it is celebrated in many countries across the globe on the third Sunday in June (this
is the day favoured by the UK), some have their own unique ways of choosing which date marks Father’s Day. In
Thailand dads are pampered on the Kings Birthday, whilst in Germany father's day gifts are given on
Ascension Day (the Thursday forty days after Easter). Germans enjoy a Federal holiday on which
traditionally they do male-only activities. These can include hiking tours on which they pull
wagons loaded with beer and local foods. These are generally empty when they stagger home.

2011 Father's Day falls on Sunday the 19th June. Our courier (DPD) doesn’t offer Sunday
deliveries, so we recommend you have your parcel delivered on the Thursday 16th or Friday 17th
. Our parcels are packaged in such a way that there will be no clues as
to their
contents. We put a large Father's Day sticker saying ‘‘Do not open until Father’s Day’’. For a
£6.50
surcharge we can deliver on Saturday 18th. Alternatively, why not have the parcel delivered to you
early in the week for you to hand deliver if you’re paying dad a visit.
